| I don't think I am going to get the dry ice for day one finale. Could someone suggest another activity I could do for "bubbling over?" Thank you so much!! Also if you did the Untitled Hymn activity on Thursday closing did that go over well? I am trying to envision if it will be meaningful like I hope.

| Hey! We couldn't get dry ice either, so we did a takeoff on the old scientific experiment with a volcano -- remember that one? It involved making a papier mache volcano, pouring baking soda down the crater and then adding vinegar -- when the vinegar and baking soda react, it bubbles and fizzes up the crater and down the side. . .so what we did is put a BUNCH of baking soda and then had the kids shout out what they were thankful for -- as they shouted out their stuff, I poured a BUNCH of vinegar in the bowl -- instant reaction! It bubbled and rose quite nicely! Now, it happens quick -- it only takes a few seconds, but it worked pretty well, and the kids were impressed. . .There is a thread on here that has other suggestions -- look at posts from early June. . . As far as Thursday night, yes!! The skit with the Untitled Hymn was VERY effective!! |

| | There is one on called Elephant Toothpaste, that would be good for this day. It is on Steve Spangler's website, but you take 6% Hydrogen Proxide which if your Pharmacy doesn't have it, you can buy it at a natural food store. I was able to get 12% food grade proxide and dilute it down with water. Then you need a pkg of dry yeast, food coloring, and a few drops of liquid soap. You drop the ingredients into a pop bottle and watch the reaction. It will make a foam that comes out of the soda pop bottle and just keep going |
