Since a Mega Beaker is hard to come by and my VBS is getting closer, I need an alternative in case I don't find one.  Did anyone use something other than the beaker?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We may make a large tube out of clear plastic dropcloths and string it across the sanctuary, filling it with the daily challenge balloons ( there is a post somewhere on the forum that shows something like this hung from a hallway ceiling...we are using one per day per child, neon colored to have a big impact....you could also make giant test tubes with pop up hampers, using several on top of each other to make it large.

Wendy,

Someone on the forum posted that they used flasks made of paper and taped them to the wall. The kids placed a cut out circle on their particular crew's flask to represent bubbles if they completed their daily challlenge. A picture was posted also. It was functional and made a nice wall decoration as well! I don't have time to locate the post right now... sorry.

call around to other churches in your area. Can you borrow one from them. On our last day a lady from another church was there and she borrowed ours as her VBS starts Moday. Then it will go to another church the following week before it makes it back to me.

I made my own beaker.  I used a piece of left over fencing, the kind with rectangular openings not chain link.  It is 4 feet tall and was probably 8 feet long, though it didn't need to be that long.  I used twist ties to hold in in a large circle and then covered the outside and bottom with clear trash bags (from Sam's) and clear packing tape.  The last thing I did was to form bend a small area to look like a spout.  It was a giant beaker (the one for sale is really a flask).

Good luck with whatever you use!

Thanks for the great ideas!

Thanks for including pictures, I was having a hard time envisioning it.  That just might work...now to find some fencing....
