Does anyone know of a good DVD based curriculum that could be used for a Grade 5/6 retreat using the topic of building friendships? I would love for them to know that God has placed them with each other to provide support and love through these challenging years.

I don't know if I'd call it DVD based, but Friendship First has a Youth and a Children's curriculum available that might work!

I heard of a church that had the parents write the kids a letter telling them how much they love them and maybe their prayers for their child.  The letter was presented to the kids at the retreat.  I know it isn't related to curriculum but liked the idea.  Good Luck.

I LOVE your idea. I'm thinking of doing that for our 6th graders the last night before they are promoted to Youth Group. Might even ask their SS teachers to write one as well. (I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking of how much these will mean to them.)

Thanks for sharing!
