I just can't figure out which book to get so I can understand how or when to implement God Sightings to the kids. I do have the Sing and Play book and it has some in it but not how to introduce to the kids what God Sighting are and how to do them...... Help By the way, I love the God Sightings Holly

| Thanks so much, I think I am going to order the Go to Guide. I was not going to get it unless the God Sightings was a part of it..... Thanks again.... Holly

I have my insight about the God Sightings. lol We were fortunate enough to be invited to be part of the focus group when Group was writing Croc Dock. We were asked because we are survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
Group asked us questions about the experiences we went through. Our church and community were like a war zone after the storm surge subsided. Our church lost all contents and some of the buildings were torn down. Half of our town was destroyed or gone. We all were in shock and didn't even know which way was up. We didn't know what to do next.
And that's when we "saw God." Thousands of times. We didn't even know what we needed or what to do next and yet the mission workers came (they still are coming and rebuilding!). The food and shelter was provided for us, even pet food for our dogs. These events and acts of caring to get us back up on our feet were so amazing it could only be explained by acts of God. We saw them everywhere. (so have NO FEAR! :-) )
We appreciated ice, clean laundry like the Tide commercial says, gasoline and gas cans, walls, working cell phones, electricity, email, street lights, cable TV, debit cards, water and food. There were no community services. We take many things for granted. Even the sounds in our neighborhood. After Katrina it was total silence. No birds singing, no dogs barking, few vehicles. Maybe a chain saw in the distance. Silence.
We didn't feel safe until we felt this comfort and care surrounding us. It's so overwhelming I am still processing how our needs were met before we knew what they were. So to me, the God sightings and the lights are all about seeing God around us in our daily lives, working through us as we shine the light of Christ. God works through us all. This is what God Sightings means to me. The people who gave me shelter, brought us a meal, led worship for us when Katrina was coming ashore, wouldn't let us pay for ice, let us use their cell phone, sent us crayons, curriculum, tables and chairs...helped us rebuild our ministry so we could take care of the people, God's people, who were hurting deeply. Thank you to all who help those in a disaster.
Floods, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and more happen to people every day. When tough times come, and they will, God is there to care for us. We have to look for God. We can teach our children to look, too. We can trust in God and not be afraid.

| Heidi: WOW!! You really know how to put God Sightings into words. With your permission, I'd love to read your letter to my volunteers so they can better understand the concept behind God Sightings. (If I can do it without crying!!) It is amazing how God's love shines through all the muck and mess. Praying that God continues to strengthen those still recovering in your area. God bless!! Kathy

Kathy,
Yes, of course you may share our story. We learned so much by having those experiences. I think for the most part we are stronger for it- once is enough, though! lol
