Specific Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership in Sunday morning ministry.
2. Weekly discipleship and small group facilitation, while actively pursuing disengaged students.
3. Assist in developing and implementing annual ministry activities, including Navajo
missions trip, Mother/Daughter ministry, seasonal retreats, outreach events, and service projects.
4. Commitment to a team-oriented approach to ministry that seeks to equip, empower,
encourage and multiply both students and volunteer leaders (as outlined by The Master Plan of
Evangelism by Robert Coleman).
5. Help create a healthy, family-friendly approach to ministry through intentionally building
relationships with parents, while encouraging and assisting them in their spiritual leadership at home.
6. Interaction, investment and support of all other staff and ministries. A keen desire to
participate in a “children through college” approach to health and growth of kids.
7. Provide administrative efficiency and leadership in program development and
implementation, communication, budget planning, and regular evaluation of volunteer leaders.
Qualifications:
· College degree.
· Post Graduate studies in youth ministry or leadership preferred.
· Prefer a minimum of five years of adolescent ministry experience and working with a
multi-staff church environment
We are not looking for:
· A “pied-piper” approach to Youth Ministry. We need a team builder/developer.
· Someone only interested in middle school ministry (Pillarized approach) vs. connecting with the overall
family approach and strategy of our staff and elders.
· Someone seeing Middle School Ministry as simply a “stepping stone” to the next assignment. We need someone who will stay awhile (i.e., five years)
· Someone needing development. We need someone who is experienced, enthusiastic and ready to go.
· Someone who is just a “kid” person. We need someone who values and participates in all the ministry unfolding in the church.
