HEY there!! I'm a youth group leader at a small church with a small youth group. I am attempting to find things to do, games to play with my teens that allow everyone to be involved. I have 1 disabled teen in my group, he has a problem walking. He can walk but he has a condition that makes him walk as if his knees wouldn't bend. I also have two girls in the group who are very large. They have trouble sitting on the floor and walking for long periods of time. These teens are sweet kids who are very involved, it just seems that the other teens who can move faster and are smaller are having to slow down and not have as much fun. Any suggestions would be SUPER helpful.
Thanks!!

| I don't know what to tell you about the two girls because I have not dealt with size issues, but I do have experience with a youth with multiple disabilities. The youth I worked with had to use a walker and he also had developmental disabilities. For games that required cognitive function aboce his level, I always paired him with his brother. He would not be able to truly participate but he was part of the team and when the team won he won and he celebrated that. For physical games that he could not play, I would often ask him to help me be a referee, and give a specific task (such as watch for out of bounds or a specific foul), even though he did not partipate in every game he enjoyed the authority that being a ref gave him. Overall, having him as part of the group was a good experinece because it made all of the other youth more mindful of including everyone.
