Anyone got any good ideas for eliminating the odors associated with diaper changes?
We already use diaper genies to seal away the smells of the soiled diapers, but it's the smells that linger in the air that are most fowl. We do use strict diaper changing procedures, but short of opening a window, those awful smells are hard to get rid of... especially in the months where it's too cold or too hot to open windows.
We've tried Lysol sprays, etc. but find those toxic for the children to breathe. What's worked for you?

| We empty our diaper pail system (not diaper genie but not a regular trash can either) after every event. It is sprayed with a deoderizer/disinfectant after everyone is gone. We haven't had any problems. We do also have a pack of those individual diaper disposal bags that we got from the dollar store that folks can use if it is exceptionally aweful or if they are just using the nursery to change a diaper when we don't provide childcare. (like funerals, weddings, etc)

We empty them right after each service, or they are removed from the room to our outside trash receptacles right away if they are truly offensive! We do have a cool diaper pail system that we love that helps. It's a Dekor brand, and can be purchased online or through Babies 'R' Us.

Get a fan and vent it into the sanctuary right where the most sourpuss old lady sits! LOL

Peggy, you are a stitch! I will pass this idea on to my Preschool leadership team so they can enjoy the laugh, too!
