I believe youth ministry needs to re-focus. Parents need to be the ones discipling their student. What do you think?

| I think that it should definitely be an equal partnership between the parents and the church to grow kids and youth in their spiritual walk with God. I'm not going to say that it should be the parents responsiblity because then whatever the church does doesn't matter. Some Youth Pastors put the "blame" on the parents so they don't have to do as much work. It also shouldn't be all on the church either because the church can only do so much. Parents live with their kids and teens so they have more outlets into a kids life than the church does. God Bless, Josh

theaddyouthpastor (11/20/2008) I believe youth ministry needs to re-focus. Parents need to be the ones discipling their student. What do you think?Andy, I agree with you 100%. This is a message I have been spreading the past few months in our church. The church has been equipping the parents since the beginning. It has been the lack of action taken when the congregation leaves. Parents sometimes, expect the Pastor or youth pastor, Church or Teacher to fix their kids. The parents have not been in the homes investing time into their lives like we should have. I am a youth pastor and parent, who finds I spend time at home working for and with my youth group, but let my time with my kids suffer. God had really challenged me to take more time with my kids. The real fruit of my success comes from my home not from my job! Pastor Mark
