I'm a new youth minister in a church plant that is just finishing it's second year. We don't have a building, so we have to get creative when it comes to when & where to meet, especially for special events (like a lock-in we just had this past weekend). So a couple of questions:
A. Are there any other mobile youth ministers out there?
B. What kinds of places are you meeting?
C. What is working for you?

I'd love to hear what other church plants and mobile churches are doing to reach students!

Blessings,
Kurt

Depending on the weather, you could meet at a local park (or Taco Bell ) You may also be able to use a community center in your area. You could even have it at a different kids home each time. Happy Holidays.

I sort of have the same problem, but my pastor doesn't want me taking the kids off the church grounds.  The sanctuary is hard, because if we are in there, the s are in the fellowship hall, and they complain that we are too loud. We can't use "our" building, because it is only a small modular building, and we share it with the younger kids.  (Teens and small children in a 30 foot trailer does not work).  And if we use the fellowship hall, the s will be in the sanctuary, saying we are too loud.  We've tried to compromise, but it is really hard.  Any game we play or music we do is just too much for our little church to handle.

If you can go to Taco Bell or a park or something, that sounds like a great idea.  Or maybe you have a volunteer's house you could borrow once a week.  Or rotate whose house you go to.  Use the pastor's house, yours, another s, your music minister's, etc.
