Volunteers are needed for a research project focusing on the preteen version of Grapple. The research project is exploring the effect of mass media on the transmission of religious values to children aged ten to twelve in a formal Christian education setting. The research is being conducted by Ralph Wyll Irvin, a Ph.D. student at Walden University and fellow Grapple user, with the permission and assistance of Group. The results of this research will be used by Group and the Christian education community at large to gain a better understanding of the effect of mass media on the Christian education process. Volunteers will be asked to record their experiences of two selected class sessions using the preteen Grapple curriculum and their general impressions of the Grapple preteen curriculum using specially designed surveys. The requirements to participate are: · The volunteer is 21 years of age or older. · The volunteer is using Group Publishing’s Grapple (preteen) curriculum to teach a class of children ten to twelve years of age in a formal Christian education setting (Sunday School, mid-week cl, and so forth). · The volunteer has secured the permission of the pastor or other duly authorized authority of their local church to participate in this research project. I hope you will join me in this exploration of the relationship between mass media and Christian education. If you have any questions or would like to receive a volunteer application packet please contact me at grappleresearch@att.net. Sincerely, Ralph Wyll Irvin
