| Upon Lisa B's request (thank you) I'm posting this question here as well as the Croc Dock forum. Suggestions are appreciated! __________________________________________________ We are having an indoor snow day (we live in sunny CA) for our families coming up in January. I was hoping for a short devotion to use with the families with a possible winter/snow theme. Our kids respond REALLY well to the Group type learning. I want to give the parents a taste of the type of learning their kids receive each week. Does anyone have any ideas or something that was successful with your church? I appreciate your help! Kate

| Hello all- I wanted to share some pictures of our Indoor Family Snow Night. For about $100 we had an amazing night of fun activities. The parents especially enjoyed the snowball fight and the kids really enjoyed snowcones for dessert.

WOW! Thanks for sharing your pics and letting us get a glimpse of all the fun! We haven't gotten snow in several years... until today (7 inches)! But I think I am going to use this theme for our CLUB56 (Preteen Bible study) The tp snowmen and the snowball fight will be a huge success with them AND won't break the bank!
What devotion did you end up using?

| Lisa- I ended up using the "This is the day" devotion. It didn't work quite like I had intended. By the time we got to the devotion, the families were wound up from the snowball fight. We continue to get compliments from our families. It was a great success and very inexpensive.

We had a wonderful "snowday" for Club56 Sunday evening. The children divided into teams and made one of the team members into a snowman. I provided toilet paper, carrots, scarves and hats. They had so much fun! Then we let the snowman tear up the creation and used the toilet tissue remains to make our snowballs. The most fun was the snowballs that would begin to unravel as the flew across the room... looked like they had a swirling tail. When I get the pictures back from our photographer, I will post a few.
And after all these years without snow, we had 7 inches of asnow 2 weeks ago and will get 2-4 inches before morning. Frankly, if you asked our 5th and 6th graders they would tell you the toilet paper snow day was just as fun as the real thing!
