I am wanting to do a series of cl or studies for my students about how to study the Bible and prepare small group talks. Do you have something you have used to teach this to your students? Looking for some places to begin the prep.

I always started with the system that I was learning/using. I figured if the system was good enough for me to use to speak to their hearts, it would be equally as beneficial for them to use to speak to the hearts of their peers. Ken Davis has two excellent resources on speaking to teenagers.

I second teaching what you do. You know that method better than any other. If you want them to really get their teeth into it have them help you put together lessons and then teach what you have put together, together.
In Bible college i took a class on preaching and got very little out of it. If you want them to learn to do it, 1) help them do it, then 2) make them do it. If you feel uncomfortable with your skills, tell them that. Let them know that you don't know everything by far but that this is how you tend to do it.
My senior pastor recently gave me a book called Communicating for a Change that he said helped him quite a bit. I haven't read it yet, but it seems it may be right up your alley. If talks about taking the Me-We-God-You-We approach. Ultimately however, no matter what style you use, they will get them most out of working it together with you.

| It is several years old now, but if you can find a copy of Teaching the Bible Creativly, published by youth specialities, then I would use it. Each chapter is a different technique for conducting a bible study, and each chapter has examples. This could be a good book to use to teach youth how to teach themselves.
