Thanks for this "Prayer Requests" forum. I would like to ask that if you read this post, please pray for all the Children's Ministry workers who have to play a bit of a political game in getting things done. You probably know what I mean. Thanks so much.

We have all kinds of obstacles thrown in our path. Today I'm praying specifically for your request, and for you, Mark. Thanks for being willing to serve! May God bless you and your ministry, and give you wisdom to know what to say and when to say it (as well as when to be silent).

Blessings!

Hello Mark.... please do not feel you are alone..... and politics are not only in the Children's Ministry, it's other ministries as well.

Try being a female and fighting the politics, dealing with new staff members (male), who come in feeling superior, wanting to "straighten things out"...; ALSO, older pastors who are from the "old school" and, although not willing to openly admit it, just can't quite accept a female Minister of Music..., (a female playing the piano or organ is OK, but up there on the stage leading the music???,) etc., and the list goes on.

Sounds like I'm whining, I know, and I probably am, but it is still a man's world, ESPECIALLY when it comes to ministers in churches.

Well, thanks for listening.....

Mark,

Working in Children's Ministries for over 15 years and as a Minister to Children for 10 I know exactly what you mean. Been there buddy and all I can say is that my heart still goes out to all Children workers who are faced with all sorts of obstacles and lack of appreciation. But it should come as no surprise to us because this is to be expected if we wholeheartedly give to the Lord in this ministry. Satan will unceasingly do whatever he can to try and discourage us from reaching the young generation. If he succeeds then that is one less battle for him to fight, but he will never win it as long as God calls men and women to stand up in the gap for our future leaders, pastors, missionaries and Children's pastors. I have committed myself to pray and interceed for every CM worker as long as I have breath. I am there with you all.

Betsy,

You are not whining. I agree with you wholeheartedly. My heart also goes out to all women who have to face such unbiblical opposition. Thank God I am part of a movement that values and supports women in ministry, especially in leadership positions. Hang in there sister. God called you and he will sustain you.

What a blessing it is to be able to lift each other up and share burdens. Thanks, all!

Pray that we all find something to meet the needs of our kids and staff in the fall, whoever it comes from.
