I have been at Nags Head Church now for 7 years. Personnel Policy reads that I can take a 3 month paid sabbatical every 7 years that I'm on staff at the church in addition to my normal vacation time.
If you were going to take a 3 month sabbatical what would you do with your time off? (I'm looking for ideas)

Andy,
Personal:
I know this sounds a little off, but one of the first things I would do is sleep in for a couple of days. Physical rest is vital to spiritual health. I would also revisit an old hobby or start up a new one. This helps to keep your mind fresh and creative juices flowing. A family vacation is well deserved. Take sometime and spend it with your family if applicable.
Professional:
I would most definitely take time to study other ministries from a close up perspective. The level of this will depend greatly on your budget and location. I would find some churches that are doing ministry well and connect with them in the hopes of learning something new on ministry. I would also take a considerable amount of time mapping out the next couple of years of ministry, sermon topics and training for workers/volunteers. Develop the habit of preparing and delivering a "State of the Ministry Address". This will help keep you honest and the leadership informed.
Let me know how it goes and what you finally decide to do!
Matt

I'm in week #2 of my sabbatical.
I've been reading in Isaiah and reading Refuel. I have two or three other books I hope to read and also will craft a seminar on Team.

I second the idea of visiting other youth ministries. This past weekend i just went back to visit the church that i volunteered at up until this past September/October. Spending one morning there gave me a list of things that i could add to or do differently with my current youth ministry to help it, and i only started here 5 months ago.
