We have always used the KidSafe material to train our new volunteers.  The problem is that it is outdated, and very long.  I don't want to minimize the importance of good training, but there has got to be good stuff that is thorough and to the point, not to mention current and interesting?

What do your churches use?

You may want to check out Group's Take-Out Training for Teachers or Teacher Training on the Go, two resources packed with easy to prepare training sessions for your leaders.

For even more up-to-date training to pass along to your teachers, check out the How2 conference nearest you. Not only will you be equipped and encouraged, but you'll get all of the materials used in presentations - Powerpoints, scripts, handouts, etc. - so you can go back home and present what you've learned for all your volunteers to hear.
