I have been having a hard time getting the children in my Sunday night children's ministry to sing.  Well I questioned them this past week why that is and they told me that if it was country music that they would sing.  So I was wondering if anyone could tell me of children's music that has a country beat to it but will get the message across to them.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you get your hands on a DVD or CD of Group's Avalanche Ranch VBS music? It wasn't all country, but some of the songs sure did sound that way to me.

I agree with the Avalanche Ranch idea. It's all praise music, though, without musical parts. I would contact your local Christian book store, and ask them to let you listen to the accompaniment tracks. You'll know right off if it's the right sound for your group. If you have a band who can play for your kids, ask the band members what they know of, or whether they could "countryfy" something you already have.

Good luck!

Wish I had a band.  Right now we are just getting off the ground.  I don't even have any help.  Most of the stuff bought for our ministry is coming out of my pocket.

That would be great.  How much would you want for it?

We like to mix it up with Avalanche Ranch and we also like to use the Hillsongs kids DVD worship. We have our Kids worship in the youth room so we use their projector. We also have the Since Lab Worship and a Sing and Praise worship that is just the words on the screen put I find that we loose most oof our younger kids who can't read with that one. It's A lot of fun to jump and dance and get the Kids excited to Praise and Worship with God! I think that having a variety is great especially for our ever changing society. But at the same time kids like consistency. I only ever put in a new song or two once a month if I have anything new available but I try not to do the same songs over and over thats when they get bored. I hope I helped I know it can be difficult to find new worship sometimes.

Becky -
Checking in to ask - How is worship is going?

Not much of a country music fan, but many of our student are. This summer, they really liked This Little Light of Mine from the Crocodile Dock VBS DVD.
