To "Fannie's Girl": Hi.  I'm in Saluda, SC and we just finished our first group VBS: Rome.  If you haven't already done yours, please get in touch with me.  I may have some things you can use.  By the way, our VBS was great!  To God be the glory!

We used the sticky-back foam abacus this week and it worked great.  Foam was on sale at Michael's, so craft for 110 kids cost less than $20.

We are in the midst of VBS and the popsicle craft was a good idea but took SOOO long the kids spent way past 10 minutes just putting them together. After the first night we decided to just have them made and spend the time teaching them how to use it and teaching them a "word of the day" and letting them write in molding sand.

I really like the craft foam idea, that will make it much much quicker, I'm going to go pick some up right now.
I want our Grammaticus School teacher to have time to get into her role and talk to kids and not just frantically put these things together.

Thanks for all the help!
