Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Chronicles of Narnia, The Passion, Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat... to name a few easy, fun, relatively non-controversial choices.

If you have a lot of guts you could try something like The Matrix, but that i would only recommend if you 1) know that it's not going to create huge waves or 2) you're ready to deal with the backlash that it might create. Usually backlash = not good in a new position.

I know if you put the extended edition Lord of the Rings Trilogy in back to back, it will most likely go the entire night. Since JRR Tolkien was a Christian, and filled the books with Christian themes, those and the Chronicles of Narnia (written by CS Lewis) are a couple of excellent, fun, & entertaining choices. Have fun!

We have movie night once a month.  We have shown everything from Willy Wonka to Spiderman to I am Legend.

We let boys pick one month then girls the next.  Just keep in mind that you want something that is clean and something that won't cause controversy.

If you are looking for strictly Christian based--- Three is a good thriller and so is The Visitation.  The Ultimate Gift is a tear jerker and a good movie.  Not to mention all the others that have already been suggested.

What I find that is good is taking secular movies and finding "God" or a "religious" message within them.

Good luck!

make sure you check if you can show the movie in your church first.  If your church has a special CCLI  type abilbity to do music they also have one for showing movies .  There are allot of movies that can not be shown in a church and can only be shown in a home.    Some of the ones who make movies you have to buy the ability to show  the movie .  Hope this helps you out

example facing the Giant, Fireproof can not be show with buying a special license by the one who produced the movie.  There are others as well

God bless

Try doing "End of the spear" and using a missions theme. I do a roadshow based around that and had a fantastic response at the early part of the year. you can buy a performance license or I understand you can do it privately under you CCL license. (little biased since i worked on the plane that was in the movie.lol)

There is a great movie called The Ultimate Gift that has a great message. FOX has a series of movies called FOX faith that is very well done.

I would recommend Facing the Giants as a movie choice.

God Bless,

facing the Giant you have to buy a special license to show the film its good for a year.   They are not covered under regular CCLI or I think the intial are different with video dvd movie section .    We had to purchase this to show it with our youth since it is not shown in a home .

Hope this helps you out

God bless

Time Changer (website, synopsis) is one of our family's favorite. Time Changer is about a Bible professor from 1890 who comes forward in time to the present via a time machine and cannot believe the things that he sees.
