I came in to an already existing children's ministry. The kids here are split differently then anywhere I have ever worked or worshiped. I was just wondering how some other places split ages for children's church, and sunday school if you don't have enough to do a different class for each age group. We have some overlap with preschool and children. Do any you do that? I am wanting to make some changes but was just curious how things are done other places.

| Hi Angela- For the first hour (SS) we have 1st - 6th and then babies, 2-3 & 4-K. During the 2nd hour we have 1-6th in Kid's Church. For the first 15-20 minutes we bring the preschoolers over to participate. They LOVE being with the "BIG" kids and it's fun to watch them worship alongside their older peers. I think it may even help the older kids participate more seeing the energy of the preschoolers. We used to bring the 2-3 class as well, but we have a lot of brand new 2s that weren't quite ready for the freedom. They spent their time running around the Fellowship Hall. :o) Hope that helps- Kate

In our church we have:
Nursery = New born-2 1/2
Preschool = 2 1/2-Kindergarten
K-1 = Kindergarten-Grade 1
2-6 = Grades 2-6
Youth = Grades 7-9
and the youth that are in Grades 10+ are in the main Auditorium
I know that having the grades 2-6 is a really big gap but we only have the three class rooms to work with in our Children's ministry and we have found a great Curriculum that works for all their ages
Another thing that we tried and had great results from was instead of moving kids from their current cl into their new one's in September we moved them in January. So the older preschoolers would move to the k-1 class and then the older grade oner's would move to the 2-6 class and the older gr. sixer's would move into our Gr. 7-9 youth program.

| Children's Church 4-11 4-6 class and 6-11 class At the beginning of class everyone is gathered in a group circle. We Pray, receive offerings, give announcments, praise and worship. Then we seperate for class time. After class and activity time, the group receives snack together and dismiss together to go home.
