Hi Rachael!

Great question on the Electronic version of KOW- the downloadable electronic version is a file that includes the entire Quarterly Teacher guide for KOW in a PDF format.  All the lessons, song lyrics, hand motions, and more.  Most of our churches who order the electronic version are doing so because they would like to have an extra copy of the Teacher guide and they like having the convenience of having it in a PDF file format.  It really is not designed to lead the Children's Church program on its own.

The KOW kit includes more!  You get, of course, the Teacher guide, but also the Quarterly Music CD, a Sing-Along Songs Music video, a DVD with quarterly discussion starting videos, an additional Craft guide called "Projects with a Purpose", gadgets/gizmos that are used in the activities, and more.  It is everything you need to lead a high-energy worship service with great activities and Bible lessons.  You can get more information by visting this weblink:  http://www.group.com/support/kow/default.asp

If you have some additional questions, just give us a call, we'd be happy to walk you thru the program a little further!

Blessings to you and your ministry!

Hello! I'm thinking of starting to use this program for my Children's Church time on Sunday Mornings.  I was just wanting some feedback on it from people who have used it before. Also, would I be able to fit each lesson into a 40 minute time period?

I've been using Kids Own Worship since September.  I don't actually use the worship part of the curriculum.  (The kids worship with the adults before Children's Church.)  But I often use some of the discussion questions and activities that are interspersed between the songs.  Sometimes I use a song for background music when the kids are working individually on something.  It is very easy to get the point across in 40 minutes.  That's usually all the time I have.  Sometimes I use the alternate activity listed on the website and sometimes I use the Children's Message or even some of the activities for the different age groups from the FaithWeaver website.  Only you know what activities will connect best with your kids.  That's one of the best things about the curriculum (and everything Group does!), every activity relates in some way to the point.

Hi Heidi! I have used Kids Own Worship for 6 years now. I too tailor it for the kids I have. I may add things from outside of the curriculum or skip things that aren't going to work for my group. I do the worship part but not exactly as it's written but some of it's very good for interaction with the kids. Because the curriculum repeats itself every 3 years, I tweek it a tad for the kids who've been through this before. The things they liked the first time they like again anyway and don't mind repeating. What didn't work so well, I can now pass over. It's also and easy curriculum to pass off for someone else to do which is helpful if you are rotating workers of need a sub.

I'm trying to find the right curriculum for our Kids Ministry - we have 1 hour each Sunday morning. Does KOW have enough bible teaching to be the only curriculum used for kids each Sunday? Or does it have to be combined with another curriculum?
