I am just opening my order and I must say I'm very, very disappointed in the Gator Horn attention getter.  To me, it is not a horn but just a plastic squeezy that squeeks.  For $6.99 I thought I would get a much better quality item and also that it would sound like a gator roar - this sounds like a rubber ducky and isn't really that loud.  Also, I don't know what the bottom is for - mounting on something??  I do have a call into my regional resource person at Group but would like to hear from all you.  I really think I'm going to return it and find an alternative attention getter.

I'm not ordering anymore--it looks like it's a bike horn with the bottom of it. I wasn't impressed with it--will probably pass it on to my preschool leader.

I too was a little disappointed.  There's no way that the kids are going to hear that in Sing & Play/Firefly Finale.  I ordered 4 of them and plan to return them.

Thanks so much for letting us know that it's not a good deal to buy the gator horn. My husband was going to do games, and he really wanted that horn. I put it on the last minute list with t-shirts to order. He switched to bible bayou most recently, but he still wanted the horn. I'm glad to know it's not worth the money, and it won't get the job done. I'll get something else, even if it's not theme related. Getting the attention of the kids is crucial, and screaming is not an option.
Thanks for letting us know what you thought.

Josh had it today at the networking party and it's just a glorified dog squeaky toy.  Very disappointing.

I really agree with all of you. I bought 8 and I really would love to return them, but I need to come up with an alternative. Any ideas out there?

I wasn't real thrilled with them either.  I think our preschoolers will like them but I only purchased a few. I typically buy a few each year and I keep them all in a bin.  Then I just point station leaders to teh bin and let them pick whichever thing they want.  I have a few Serengeti Drums, a few of the bike horns, a few triangles, etc...

LOL, Sarah...you've obviously been to our VBS.   In the past we've used coach's whistles that you buy @ walmart, and those plastic hand shaped clappers.  The whistles are inexpensive and work well.
