I agree on the t-shirt size.  I also sent in suggestions that they have a way to register multiple siblings with one form instead of re-typing the information for each sibling.  I also asked for a customizable times field - our VBS is at different times depending on the day (the kickoff on Sunday is much earlier than the other days).

I agree on the customizing. We are not doing preschool so I can't use this page since I know with preschool listed we will then have people confused and signing up their preschool kids.

I also would like to have positions available that are not listed.

Tshirts sizes, volunteer age bracket............

I thought of using this as preregistration, transfering the information from the site onto my registration forms and then sending a copy with a letter asking them to turn the form in with a registration fee.

So yes customizing the pull downs and such would be helpful.

Our church website is down for revamping (VBS has been the only new info the last two years) so I'm toying with the Toybox.  I've flipped through a couple of the church sites and none of them seem to fit on the page without scrolling to the right.  Are they all set up like that?

Also, anyone else have problems with the option to log in using the demo account?  It wouldn't work for me.

I tried three times to sign on to the demo and it won't let me.  Has the password been changed?

Anyone else get this email?  Looks like they are working on some of our requests!

Greetings VBS Directors!

Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and suggestions for the Web Toy Box. We hope you are finding this tool useful and fun as you plan this year's VBS. We are working on implementing several of your ideas this year. Others will be considered for 2008! Meanwhile, we launched a couple of updates recently that we wanted to let you know about.

  • Our Supply List Calculator is now up and running!
  • Our international partners can now use the Web Toy Box too - yeah!

We have some other helpful updates coming soon. Stay tuned…

Warmly,

Your VBS Team

Mindy,

I got that e-mail too, so I logged in and played around with things. Cool stuff, if only I could get cooperation from others to use it!

I don't know when this got added, but we have the ability to remove specific volunteer titles from the list of what's available.  If you go into the Toybox and then select Staff, below the staff is an option to "Review the Volunteer Opportunities" or something similar.  By removing the checkmark from in front of a role it disappears.  So all of us who rotate preschoolers just got a great fix!

Does any one know if you can change the the choices for nursery, preschool, and such?

I need to know how old the preschoolers are?

I'm just getting started exploring this new web toy box. So far, for the most part, I like what I see. There are many great ideas for improvement posted here. I like the t-shirt size and the age or grade of the child. Here's one I haven't seen yet. I noticed the customizable PDF daily schedules and I absolutely love this idea. I'm confused as to why the preschool is listed on the elementary schedule (last column) and why the preschool rotation schedule PDF aren't available? Also, I would like the ability to customize the number of minutes in-between stations. Finally....where are the back sides of the schedules....you know, the jokes and stuff? The finished product looks so much more professional, and is so much easier to do, if you print directly from the PDF files. Could these be added? That's it for now. I'll chime in again if I come across something else! Thank you, Group, for listening to our suggestions!
