Hi!  I'm wondering what ideas you might have for a closing program for Crocodile Dock.  We usually have the kids sing some of the songs they've learned and show a powerpoint of the week's activities during our regular worship hour.  Last year we did Power Lab, and we had a local christian entertainer do science experiments and relate them to Bible stories.  I'd like to do something similar this year, but I'm not coming up with any ideas.  HELP!

We've just invited parents and all to a review of sorts where we gather all the kids and go through each day's points and stories.

We are writing our own drama for the closing production...the one supplied by Group will not fit for us with our Crocodile Dock set.  I am still working on the script, which includes the Skeeter character and others we've made up as well as the Bible stories and songs from Croc Dock.  The plot revolves around a land developer coming to Croc Dock to build a luxury resort and virtual theme park...lots of funny situations arise and in the end the Dock is saved along with the land developer.  If anyone wants the script, we will share, but I don't think it'll be finished for a week or so.

Script is done!!!

Email me if you want it.

A synopsis is attached in another post below.

We have done the same thing for years and the kids arrive on Monday morning asking about it, anticipating it. A gospel magician joins us on Friday. A gospel magician always makes it clear to the audience that there is nothing supernatural about what he does because "only God can perform miracles". He ties the illusions into the Bible and salvation. He checks with us ahead of time for the week's verses and Bible points so that he can incorporate them into what he does. He has a fee, but it is negotiable based on the size of the church and the budget available. You can probably find a gospel magician in your area by checking the internet, but let me know if you need help. Wilma

Katrina,

Let us know when you have finished writing your skit.  We really like your idea and would love to receive a copy of it if you are willing to share.

Blessings

I have attached a synopsis of the closing drama we are doing.  Sorry, that I am still writing...got off to a running start, but need to finish up.  For those of you who may be interested in using it...read the synopsis then email me and I'll send it out when I'm done.

Blessings to All

search the forum, i posted this topic previously. tonight was our closing and we had some one do a presentation with snakes, she's a science teacher. she had snake skin and all. she also has a talent for making animals out of balloons and she did this as well. we then went to finale and pastor did a review of the wk along with the spotlight dramas from the wk. we intermixed some songs, did door prizes and gave goody bags and certificates to leaders to distribute and before you knew it it was time to go!

We just finished our week of Crocodile Dock tonight!  We closed with a bang!  What we do is that we follow the program as Group outlines it for 4 nights and the on the 5th night, we do all in the sanctuary (where we do our Sing & Stomp all week).    All the parents are invited.  We start off with Sing & Stomp by doing ALL the songs and incorporating some of the skits in between a couple of the songs.  Our youth group did an awesome job with this.  The songs this year were awesome and everyone, including the adults were totally involved in worship.  Than we have the Bible Bayou Station Leader and her helpers play out Day 5 on the pulpit.  We than have Dockside Drive-in take place on our multi-media screens.  In between all this, I recognized the workers, had the children stand up and give all the helpers a big hand clap!  Lastly, I arranged for one of the male adult workers wrap it up.  To my surprised he dressed up as Moses and just spoke about the experience of crossing the Red Sea.   It was totally awesome.  Like I said, VBS 2009 ended with a bang -- better than I ever imagined.  God gets the credit!
