Katrina,

Could we have a copy of your skit also.  I loved the synopsis and would love to see the rest when finished

Betty, Glad you liked the synopsis...I just forwarded the script...hope it works for you and all the others who requested it.  We will start rehearsing it next week. Our Croc Dock starts July 20.

Hi - Here is a closing idea for you that I am using.

We do the opening song, then tell about the bible stories and share about the mission project and a couple of our crafts, then we saved the song "This little light of mine" till the very end and here is what you do --

While someone is diming the lights (to off) - the VBS director says "As the sun sets on this year's VBS here at Crocodile Dock on the buyou, we invite you to let God's light shine in your life as we sing our closing song.  The music begins, each child and the VBS Staff have little flashlights and sing the song "This little light of mine".  As the song is being song, 3 or 4 of the kids take the fishing creel baskets filled with little tiny flashlights (already turned on) and pass them out to the congregation.  What an impact!

We have a small congregation - so it was easy to do.

Hope this helps - Let me know if you have any questions.  You can email me at: nordykefarms@prodigy.net

Many blessings, Kathy Nordyke

Kathy N.

Kathy,

I really like your idea about passing out the lights to the children and the congregation.  Would be great if we could pull that off at the end of the drama as the last song will be This Little Light of Mine.  Glow sticks would work too for the congregation...I've done this before during a service.

Not sure if many are still on this forum...but wanted to say that our Closing Drama, A Stranger on the Dock, was a huge success.  It was wonderful to see how the children were drawn into the story and of course they were tremendous with their songs.   It was a great week for all...thank you Lord.
