Hi,

Maybe I haven't explored it enough yet but I have a questions about the Web Toy box.  We have a $20 per child fee for VBS.  I like the idea of online registration, but we don't consider a child registered until we receive the registration fee.  Is anyone charging for registration planning to use this feature?  Do you connect the registration to Paypal?  If so, do you charge more for online registration since there are fees associated with paypal?

Thank you,

Brooke

Since I make a website every year, I've often thought of making registration online. However, because we charge and because we have a "I give my kid permission to participate and give medical release etc." section on the form that a parent needs to sign I never bother with online registration. I'd have to track down the people who didn't bother to follow up. So instead I just put a PDF format of the registration form online and let them download it.

I'm thinking we'll need to do that also!

We charge for registration also, but I'm going to try using the Toy Box anyway, asking *prominently* *several times* for them to send a check in to complete their registration.  We will get more folks who won't pay on time this way (although we seem to get some of those every year regardless), but it's worth it to avoid having to manually enter registration into Excel which is what we have done up to this point.  Time consuming!

You can always use small gifts for people who preregister.

Howdy~I am very new to this forum & have only been volunteering for VBS for three years...could you share your registration form with us?  I've not put anything like that together & if there's a "standard" form I'd like to get it right the first time out...

I like the idea of having the release included too~thanks!!!  such great info on this site

I'm doing the same thing...asking people to send the registration fee. I always send a letter with reminders before VBS and I will include our medical release form with that letter.

I've been playing around with my info today.  If you go into the html section, you can get that area highlighted so it will be more prominent.  I've got an example on my toybox page ... https://www.groupvbs.com/myvbs/volunteerreg.aspx?churchid=1410

That's pretty much the reason we decided to not use the online registration this year. (Not that I think Group can really do anything about that problem - and I do really appreciate that they offer the web toy box!!) We are all pre-registration and get almost all the money in beforehand, and decided it would be too crazy to try to take all the money on Monday morning on top of everything else.

But like I said, I think it's great that Group offers the Web Toy Box and online registration. Maybe in a few years all our churches will be taking Pay Pay and credit cards, and it won't be a problem!
