My friend Melissa came up with these awesome adaptations to stick with the theme but provide a more filling meal for us at VBS.  Though I'd share.  Enjoy!

God is with us – burning bush

Burning bush Tostados  - represent a fire burning bush

·         Tostado shells, lettuce, refried beans, shredded cheese, salsa, sour cream

Burning bush cupcakes – orange frosting and red sugar sprinkles          Water

God is powerful – plagues

Sea of Dead Fish sandwiches –

·         Frozen fish fillets, buns, mayo                          River of blood Red kool-aid

Bugs & Boils snack mix–

·         Chocolate chips – brown gnats               Chex cereal  - crunchy locust

·         Gushers – big boils                                Marshmallows – hailstones

·         Raisins – squishy flies

God’s promises – He’ll do what is says He’ll do – Passover

Passover Promise pizza

·         Rectangle pizzas cut into strips to make the 3 parts of the doorpost

God’s promise cookies

·         Heart sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles to decorate                  Water

God gives us life – Jesus comes back to life

Buried Burritos

·         Flour tortillas, cheese, seasoned beef, lettuce, salsa

“Berried & Raised”

·         Vanilla wafers, whipped cream, strawberries                                        Water

God cares for us

Part the water hotdogs

·         Hotdogs placed to part the bun (water), ketchup, mustard         Blue Kool-aid

Part the water - sweet victory

·         Graham crackers with blue frosting, parted by dry land butterscotch chips in the middle.
