We have never had a child be scared from Chadder's DVDs. I went ahead and ordered the preschool version this year but like the above post...we tested it on a couple of preschoolers who LOVE Chadder and they didn't like the preschool version either. They wanted the "real" Chadder. So next year we will not order it as we love the original Chadder movies. It is great of Group to offer that version though for those who have had trouble with kids getting scared. Thankfully our kids never have.

Blessings,
Johnnie

Just finished Crocodile Dock.  What a great year!  I have to weigh in on the CHadder video.

This year our preschool leaders ALL agreed that the preschool Chadder was far below the kids at about a toddler level.  Our preschool director, who is a preschool teacher was very disappointed.  The original Chadder has been a little too intense for the kids, so we loved the idea of a preschool version, but Group still needs to work on it.  We'd loved to see a video simular to the older kid's version, but just less intense at times.

Thanks!  Pam

I agree. That's what I thought the Preschool DVD was going to be before I watched it.

God Bless,

Can the Chadder's preschool DVD be a little more than it was this year with C.D.?  We have 20 min in our schedule for CHadder's and this DVD and script only take about 10 min.  I realize it is alot to ask but can you create a small adventure that is preschool/kindergarten oriendted so that the kids will continue to enjoy it but it will also better fill the time allowed?

I agree that Chadder was WAY below the level of 3 and 4 year olds. I ordered it this year because I thought it would be Chadder's Adventures, just at a different level. They watched it the first day and the preschool leader came and found me and said that the kids were like, "That's it? Where is the movie??". So they ended up joining another group each day to watch the "real" Chadder movie. We have never had any problems with nightmares, so we will continue letting them watch the "real" one.

We'd like a video with more of a story line to keep the kids attention. It was certainly geared too young for our preschoolers, especially those who are entering Kindergarten.

We have been using Group for over 12 years.  WE use nornal Chadder DVD in our Preschool only.  We play the movie as they are eating their snack.  This year we used the Preschool version as part of our Bible time.  The Children and station leader loved it.  I am glad to see it will be offered in High Seas.

We ended up using the Elementary DVD as well.  The preschool one just didn't spark any excitement for us.  I concur with those above that suggested a separate preschool dvd but something with a story line (just not as intense as the elementary one).  We'd still like it to be a little adventurous...just not super scary.

Having been the Chadder leader in five different years, I am delighted to weigh in on the Preschool Chadder video.  I used it but didn't care for it. It was disappointing.

The discussion of critters was nice, and our kids enjoyed the songs without the other 250 elementary kids all around them.  But the bit with Chadder and his puppeteer was entirely pointless. Not only was it way below the kids, but it also didn't provide any "meat" to discuss the Bible point of the day.  Chadder's Adventure provides a basis for talking about the bible point, and nothing similar was provided for the preschoolers.

Furthermore, the leader would say "lets flap our arms like birds" or "let's put a bucket on our heads and pretend we're turtles" but there wasn't time allowed for our group of 75 preschoolers to do the same.  Our kids were sitting on the floor in front of our scenery watching a video of other kids on the floor in front of THEIR scenery, which I found completely absurd.

Next year, I will show the regular Chadder video, have an age-appropriate preschool discussion, and then just play one of the songs on the Sing and Play DVD for them.

I was excited to talk to my chadder leader . I heard concerns on the preschool dvd from another church . Well when I talk to my chadder leader she said the kids were loving the video .  That it was right on for them and she loved it and glad for the change

God bless

Doreen
