We used the Preschool Chadders for Croc Doc and didn't like it. Too many of the kids missed seeing the movie. I don't think we'll order it again.

This was our 2nd year doing Group and our 1st year using the preschool dvd. Our kids did fine with the elem. one last year, but we were loaned the preschool one this year. Being a preschool teacher myself, I think it was a wonderful dvd. It gave them the wiggle time they needed and when they went to final finale, they knew more of the motions to the songs.

This is my first year as director.  Our kids did not respond well at all to the video we used last year (not Groups).  We would rather act out the play with our own people.  The kids seem to like it a lot better.  Is there a script anywhere.  I looked at the skit and it is not what we had in mind.  Am I missing the script somewhere? I had called about it before buying and I guess in my inexperience I misunderstood.  Thanks.

There is no script for the Chadder DVD. The Station Leader of Sail Away Cinema uses that to help the kids learn more about the Bible Point. I wouldn't cut the Chadder DVD. Try it and see how your kids respond to it. You'll find that most VBS kids really enjoy Chadder.

The scripted skits in Group's VBS curriculum are used at Sing & Play Spash. They're to further help the kids learn about the Bible Point but they are optional if your church doesn't want to use them.

God Bless,

Josh

My kids love Chadder..in fact the closer we get to VBS the more they ask about him.  I would recommend using it!

Just a note about using puppets.  We had a ventriliquist come to our church a while back.  She was fantastic. Right up front, she flat out told the kids that the characters were puppets and she provided their voices.  The kids were cool with that, and no one interupted to point out that they were just puppets or whatever.  I think that's probably a good way to go.  Just a thought.
