Does Eggshell paint work on foam?

We painted our Fiesta buildings with the plastic on.  This year we were able to peel the plastic (and paint) off and we had fresh surfaces to paint on this year.  We did not paint our Buddies on the foam.  We didn't have problems with peeling but the buildings didn't have all the detail that the Buddies have and I am sure we would have been crying if the paint had peeled after all the hours of work it takes to make the Buddies life size...
