The game on friday says you need nine 10lbs bags of flour. It seemed to be a waste to buy them and then not use them afterwards to we brainstormed and found that a gallon jug of milk filled with water weighs 8 lbs. We were a little less than 90 lbs but thought afterwards 20 oz bottles of pop or water could help make up the difference.  You just need the jugs to have screw on tops and not pop tops so that they don't break open.

We even had a helper who weighed 90 pounds and conveniently she was helping with games so we used her as well.

Hope this helps someone!

We used 2 liters of soda in a backpack, we had a lot of toddlers, so 45 lbs was more than most of them weighed.

We're using milk jugs filled with pebbles. Weigh them on bathroom scales to get the 90 pounds needed.

Has anyone tried bags of sand? We are thinking that after VBS we could just contribute it to ouir Church's preschool...

We bought 90 lbs. of flour with the intention of donating it to our Care Cottage afterward (a benevolence ministry).  However, we ended up doling it out personally to families we thought might benefit from the gift.

I decided to use 90 lbs of free weights in a backpack, which is put inside the sheet to be carried.
It would cost too much to buy all the flour.
I called a local gym to borrow the weights.

We ended up using 50 pound bags of playground sand.  It wasn't the historically correct 90 lb. packs, but they were sure easier to deal with than all those bags of flour.  We had one split open, but the rest were in tact and went straight to the preschool sandbox when we were done.
