I just wanted to praise God for the experience we had with our Rome program which ended last night. Over the course of the five days, we saw 333 different kids, had 109 of those attend every day, had 1,700 cans of food donated to our food pantry and best of all....HAD 68 KIDS ACCEPT CHRIST!!!! Another stellar program by Group.
We at ABT in AKRON, OHIO posted our daily videos for all to enjoy on our church's YouTube page:

Days One through Four are up already.
We will be heading on a "High Seas Expedition" in 2010!
Hope you check out our YouTube page and enjoy the videos.

| This was our first experience with The Holy Land series. The kids responded immediately, the adults took a little longer. But once it was in full swing and they could see the impact it was having on the kids, the buy-in was 100%. By the end of the week, everyone was looking forward to next year! The most memorable event occurred during the last skit when the soldiers came to close the metalworker's shop. The children began chanting, "We are Christians!" over and over in a totally spontaneous show of solidarity that resulted in a small riot. No one was prepared for this scenario, but we carried it through based on the biblical principle of submission to authority. One little boy watched the guards to see where they took their plunder. When they were busy with something else, he retrieved it and restored it to the rightful owner!

| During the Day 4 skit in which the bread is stolen, one little boy screamed out, "ATTACK! ATTACK!" to the kids, hoping to help save the thief. The adults nearly lost it in laughter! The next night, during the Day 5 skit in which the metalworking shop is closed down, one of the soldiers makes a comment to the kids about how they'll hear about it if anyone tries to talk other people into joining them as Christians. This time, a boy in the crowd spontaneously replied, "Yeah, well we'll just convert you, too!" I guess if we've gone from attacks to conversion, we're headed in the right direction?!
