| Can someone please tell me the background to the metalworker? Our VBS starts tonight and somewhere between tearing out all of the sheets for the crafts and putting them in the different shops, just last night, we have lost the sheets that go with the Metalworker. We've got everybody's history/background ready to go except the Metalworker. Can someone please give me a brief description of what the story concerning the metalworker is? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give! Lynita Macedonia Baptist Cochran GA

A MUST READ!! I was the metal worker. I had so much fun! I decorated my shop with real old metal. Horse shoes old rusty wheels, fire place tools and mallet. I made a fire pit and put coals in it and lay my fire place thongs in it. I had a real old time metal sharpner that you use your foot on to make it spin. I used one of those things you mix concrete in, to put my sand, nails and magnets in. We never had time to do it. I had to use a smaller string for the necklaces. Then we ran out of the silver metal ones, so I went to the party store and got a bag of plastic gold coins (150 for about $2.-$3.00) and at the dollar store got some shiny glass rocks. I drilled a hole in the coins and with a sharpie drew a fish on one side. Hot glued the rocks on! The red ones were VERY COOL! Since the children had a hard time putting the string in and couldn't use the hot glue gun, I made them all and sold them to the children for a coin. I wanted to share more of Jesus, so when they came to my shop and sat down, I would say, " I have a secret. Do you know what it is? I'm a Christian, and I love Jesus!. This symbol represents that I am a Christian. If I see someone wearing this or draws a picture in the sand, I know that they too are Christians and Love Jesus!" When I walk in the market place, I will show the side of the fish, and the other Christians know that am a Christian too. But if those Romans find out I am a Christian, they will take my store away and put my in prison, but if they will ever ask me, if I am a Christian and if I follow Jesus, I will tell them the truth and that I DO LOVE JESUS WITH ALL MY HEART, SOUL AND MIND!" When a Roman guard would walk by, I say real loud, "I take the metal out of the ground and melt it in my fire, and get all the dirt out, and melt in and shape it into whatever I want." Then when the guard walked away, start telling them about Jesus. I ask them, "What are you afraid of? They would say different things. Tigers, elephants, the devil. I would talk about the BLOOD OF JESUS! That devil can't stand the blood of Jesus. My blood can't do anything, but the blood of Jesus is very powerful! That when you get scared, say, "THE BLOOD OF JESUS" nothing can cross the blood of Jesus. Real loud I'd have them to repeat it! "THE BLOOD OF JESUS" Then would say and have them repeat real loud, "God didn't give me a spirit of FEAR, But of LOVE, POWER and a SOUND MIND! I would say, I'm not LOCO. Well maybe a little. The Hispanic children and teachers laughed! We also talked about Love. I would say close your eyes and feel this. I would let them touch my arm. and asked, "what color is it?" They laughed and said, you can't feel color. I said, everyone has a heart beat, and can feel pain, hunger, and tiredness. That we need to treat others with love, because they feel things that you feel. That LOVE is the greatest in the eyes of Jesus. I would talk about what ever the Holy Spirit showed me to say. Then I would ask them who loves Jesus? Who has asked Jesus to forgive them of their sins? Who believes that Jesus in God's son? That's a time that they can receive Jesus. Then I would say since ya'll are Christians, you can wear this necklace. I let them buy one and pick one out. I hung them on a thread spool holder. If they are to young I didn't push them to get saved, but told them since they loved Jesus that they could wear it anyway. On Friday when the Romans took my store away, I acted like it was upset and fussed at the Romans. Then said, "God didn't give me a spirit of FEAR, But of Love, Power and a sound mind!" I for give you soldiers. I told the Romans, about Jesus, and ask them if they would like to receive Jesus in their hearts. (before hand I told them what I was going to do, and to reject Jesus) The children BOOED the romans. The children got lots of word that week. That is basic and very helpful with their walk with Jesus. It is more import and crafts. I told them that they had to wear the necklaces everyday, so everyone would know that they were Christians. The wood worker ran out of his tops. Jesus is always giving me ideas at the last minute. We made sun dials. It didn't cost anything so I got some poster board paper, and cut out round circles. cut a straight line to the middle. Cut out squares, the cut them in half, corner to corner. Folded it at the bottom, pushed it in the slot, and taped or glued it. You 12:00 then 3:00, 6:00, 9:00. then fill in the rest. That helps keep it in the right place. Then put N for north, at the top, S for south at the bottom, W west left, E east right. We used a gray crayon and colored it, and use makers for the writing.

| Thank you SO much! You've given me an idea to help her. I let our crafts people do whichever crafts they want to do on which nights they want to. She had taken the papers home to keep in mind what she needed to do while someone else thought it was lost............which created a panic mode in me! Thanks for your help! Lynita
