I just survived my first year as the VBS Director, and the deacon has asked me to head up something for Christmas, as well. We used Crocodile Dock for our first VBS in over a decade, and we loved it. Since we're a very small church (only about 50-60 members and few children), I was wondering if Group's Instant Christmas Pageants would work for us. I think "The Mouse's Tale" sounds precious, and I know the website says it gives ideas for adjusting the number of roles, but have any other small churches done this one successfully? We probably have about ten children who would participate.

I have looked at this Christmas Pageant, and wondered how it worked. Okay, Groupies, tell us how well it works, or if it doesn't. How much preparation is really necessary.

We are a small church and this is the very first pageant we used...it was AMAZING and SO easy!!!!!!!!! We kept it simple...the kids simply used their bodies to act out the part and/or lip-synched, if they wanted to, to go along w/ the words on the CD. We did copy the script and if they chose, they could keep the script w/ them or not. We made very simple costumes...ears and tails mostly and had the kids wear the appropriate color...ie: the donkey wore gray pants and a gray shirt. The props were also very simple...we did a creche that year and a rocking chaire. The congregation LOVED the carol singing that they were included in....this was our first and we got a little more elaborate w/ the next...BUT, A Mouse's Tale is by far my favorite! Please feel free to email me w/ any questions or need further info...you will love this! Blessings! Kimberly

| I forgot to add...we only had 3 practices and EVERYONE was never there at the same time...it was still a HUGE success and the kids loved doing it! Kimberly
