| We have only been allowed 4 days for our Crocodile Dock VBS, because "that's the way it's always been" thing. Any ideas on rotating stations, omitting a day, or combining lessons? Each station will be 20 minutes each every night. We are a small church and are doing an inter-generational VBS involving adults.

Consider eliminating day 1 or day 5. You could combine day 2 and 3, but there is a funny approach on day 2 with all the plagues, and a more serious approach on day 3 with the final plague, Passover. If it were me, I would probably eliminate day 1.
Good luck,
Happy VBSing!

Whereas I would probably eliminate Day 5! LOL I wouldn't think it would be possible to combine days as it would get too confusing for the kids AND leaders.

I am with Peggy. Eliminate Day 5.
Do Day 4 and especially the finale as it is very moving for kids and adults.
Blessings on your VBS

We used days 1-3 and day 5. It's not that the story of Jesus isn't important (duh), but we wanted to tell the Exodus story from start to finish. It always confuses my kids on what I call the "God Years" or Old Testament years that Group puts the death and resurrection of Jesus right in the middle of the OT story. If we want kids to learn the Bible--all of it--we need to tell the stories in ways that make sense, not interrupting one story for part of another just because "Jesus Died and Rose Again" is 'always' on day 4. Ours seems to be working well--we'll do the Red Sea tonight. (The kids are calling for a reappearance of Pharaoh--they loved day 2's plagues. And last night's Passover story was so good and so intense for the kids--and me, too!) And if they really HAD to cover Jesus' death/resurrection, it would have made just as much sense to do it on day 5.
The other thing we've done this year is skip the 'silly' skit at the beginning, and just go ahead and do the Bible Bayou story as one big group at the end of our opening. Then the Crews have copies of the Crew Leader's discussion questions and can have Crew Time right afterward to talk about what they've just heard. That way all the kids have heard the story before they make a craft or play games or have a snack about the story, which helps it make so much more sense. I don't think we'll ever go back to the 'silly' skit again.
Good luck with your four days!

| We are also doing Days 1-3 and Day 5. However, we are planning to do Day 4 for another activity or event. Candy

| We had the same issue and somewhat combined Day 2 and Day 3, with the emphasis on Day 2. We stuck to the Bible Point and Verse from Day 2, but some of the stations added information from Day 3, and crafts used something for Day 3. We definitely kept the skits, but modified them for time. We had a couple older children say they went to Crocodile Dock the week before at a neighboring church and commented on how they didn't do the skits and they really liked ours.

| I always wondered why day 4 interrupts the flow and is Jesus' resurrection. Especially this year with it being Moses all the way through.

We do VBS 6:15-8:00 Monday through Thursday. Here's whats working for us. We don't do spotlight drama, a snack station, and usually don't do the drive in as a separate station. We start with the singing and the skit - the kids LOVE the skit. we then all rotate together b/c we're smaller. We do craft, bible bayou, game. Then the kids pick up a snack that they take with them to watch chadder in the same place as we do our singing and finale. They do a wrap up with their crew and then finale with the closing but only one song. It keeps us hopping, and there really is no down time - but it works and the kids have a blast. We also don't do the operation kid to kid. We have an african missionary who requested christian coloring books, so we have the kids bring them in.
With this year's curriculum, here's what we did-
Day 1 - normal
Day 2 - normal
Day 3 - We used day 5 material. The bible bayou leader, quickly goes over the passover before going into leaving egypt. We don't do a craft. We show day 3 and 4 of Chadder so its a longer movie time.
Day 4 - normal, except showing the day 5 movie. The bible bayou leader emphasizes that just as God delivered the israelites from slavery in egypt, jesus delivers us from slavery to sin.
