Any ideas for adapting our Rome costumes to look more Egyptian?  We had a church member sew 50 tunics and sashes for us and I plan on using them as often as possible!

Have you thought about just adding the wide decorative collar that the Egyptians liked to wear?

Exactly what Susan said--just have everyone make the Cairo Collar in the Jewelry Shop and you don't even have to create anything. Participants will do it themselves as part of their time in the Marketplace!

Or you could be really historically accurate and have everyone wear ONLY their sashes.  And I do mean ONLY the sashes!  LOL It was HOT in Egypt!

Will the family groups in Egypt be Egyptian families or Israelite families? This will make a difference in costuming I would think. It would be nice to know because I would like to begin buying sale fabric and making kid's costumes. The church I'm at hasn't used a Bible-time curriculum before so I'm starting from scratch.

Just opened my kit and it looks like the kids are in Egyptian families, not Israeli families.

Family Names include Memphis, Zoan, Amarna, ect. Definitely Egyptian.

They're Egyptian families, because--since Joseph's family hasn't moved there yet--Joseph is the ONLY Israelite there.

Add some gold leme under your sashes along with the egyptian collars.  You'll be well on your way!
