| So many curriculums to choose from it is difficult. I have recently volunteered to take on a preteen sunday school class and will begin in Sept. Nothing is in place so i am starting from scratch. I should have 5-8 in my class so im unclear to which program to purchase. I attend a Baptist Church and am looking to provide for the kids the best program available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks, eric

Choosing a curriculum is important, but even more important than your curriculum is your character as a leader. I encourage you to pray for your kids, call them every week, go to their sporting events, hang out with them outside of your small group time, and celebrate life together with them. You can have a subpar curriculum but still teach them about God through your actions.
That said, I'm currently using a book called Connecting Your Heart to Others by Doug Fields and Brett Eastman. It's published by Youth Specialties and runs for USD $9.99 per copy, at retail. So you'd need $9.99 per kid. It's not a long small group curriculum (it only goes 6 weeks), but they have other books that continue the series.
Another book I've had success with isn't a curriculum as much as it is just a book written for preteens, called Loser's Club by Jeff Kinley, published by Invert.
