| | Here's a response from Steve: We just started Faith Weaver at our church and I must say I am so excited. As a Sunday school teacher it's really a blessing to get the parents involved. Even our adult Sunday school classes are doing the teachings. We have incorporated family time with it. The hands on Bible is so easy to read and has so many different projects, it makes teaching 3rd grade allot more fun. Like I tell my students I am a history teacher, now I am teaching a little biblical science also. I am so glad and blessed to be teaching this program. I also have registered on most of your on line sites and receive your e-news. The tips I get are fabulous. Thanks. God Bless. Steve

| | Hello, We just started Faith Weaver yesterday at our church. We are all very excited about our new curriculum. I am the supplies buyer. I was a bit disappointed in one of the supplies that I had to purchase. It was a great idea and concept, however, it was very expensive compared to most other supplies. I had to buy 2 lemons per child and have lemon slices for 2 different cl. We spent almost $18 for this supply. I was told that one of the benefits of this curriculum was it's low cost. This surely wasn't true this week. I am praying that this was just a fluke week and all weeks aren't going to be like this. Thanks. Kim W. |

| | I am sorry to hear that the supplies were expensive for you. Our intent is to provide a supply list that is inexpensive and easy to find. Please let us know if you find any other supplies that cause a problem. I have alerted our development team so that they can be sure to note in our files that this supply was expensive so they can find a replacement. I know our team is reviewing supplies on a regular basis, so having feedback is essential to making sure we are always thinking about how supplies will work for churches. Blessings, Melissa Towers |

| | We've been using Faithweaver since September '07. Our primary reason for going with it is to have all our kids on the same truth each week. Our preschool cl are having a great time with the material. Our 1st -6th grade team is struggling a bit. We have 1st-6th grade in a large group for worship and a short teaching segment. We then break into small groups for 30-35 minutes, followed by a large group wrap-up time. Several of my small group leaders are struggling adapting the material to 30 minutes. Any suggestions? It is also alot of extra work for my large group teachers to structure their time of teaching. We are using the resources on the web, but they aren't always very applicable. I'm also trying to make up an overall plan for kids regarding the biblical truth we are teaching. I am familiar with the scope and sequence, but is there any other reference of overal teaching objectives (doctrine, character change, life skills, ...) Finally, does Faithweaver have any other plan/curriculum that would better fit our format of large/small group with single truth concept? or are there any plans to adapt it? Thanks, Rob

| | I am sorry to hear that you 1st-6th grade team is struggling to fit the FaithWeaver material into a 30-35 minute group time. There are several options you can take in order to make this work out for you. One option you could implement would be to intentionally cut out some of the activities in FaithWeaver’s lesson sequence. FaithWeaver is programmed to have 60 minutes or more of material. Therefore, in order to fit it into 30 minutes of time, you are definitely going to have to cut out some activities. Another option is to look into Kid’s Own Worship. Kid’s Own Worship follows the same scope & sequence as FaithWeaver, but it is designed to work in a 30-60 minute timeframe. KidsOwn Worship is the Children's Church that goes along with FaithWeaver, so the main focus is on learning about how and why we worship God. You could also look into another curriculum we offer here at Group. Bible Blitz has the same components you have for your Sunday School experience. With Bible Blitz you have a worship time, a large group teaching time, and a small group time. We have several other curriculum choices, so if none of these options work - please feel free to check out all we have to offer at www.group.com/curriculum. Thank you for your interest in FaithWeaver, I hope these suggestions are helpful. |

| | Our congregation just started using Faithweaver materials. The home handout is very nice-looking, but I must express concern about the content. The story of "Tina," a 14 year-old girl with a one-year-old baby who had been "kicked out" by her parents was very concerning to my 8 year-old third grader. First of all, in most states, this would be a legal issue (I'm a pediatrician who works often with at-risk teens and in our state, any sex before age 14 is reportable to the state child protection agency). This story took an incredibly complex issue and created a very sympathetic figure out of this teen. This story had a big impact on my little girl (she read it at church before I had a chance to see the paper). Should we as the church reach out to pregnant teens? Of course!!!! Should this be a topic in an 8-year-old's curriculum (in our home, we haven't quite gotten to the specifics of how pregnancy happens!!!! ) I think not. |

| | WE have been Using faithweaver and it has been great . I have not spent allot of money for supplies . I have had allot around the house or a trip to the dollar store. The kids love this past sunday lesson and really ate it up. The letters they wrote were wonderful and they got the point . They got the point of Tina too and the other children . They got concern that she would be kick out and not Love by her parents. One of the Comments was they don't know the Lord. They were glad that someone took her in . It was wonderful to hear. Then they said you wouldn't find me in that situations Because I am waiting till I get married. I would like to see the songs bigger in the poster size . Its hard to show them it when it so small.IT would be nice for a sheet I can copy with the words and lamenate the words to set with them on the floor. See we meet on the floor no chairs and no tables. WHen I did this the discussion was more and the kids got more into the lesson. Plus with all the stuff we have too do they seem to get in the way. We have lap board. which they can use a dry write pen on as well. We use allot of Paper too . Its fun to see them spark with excitement . Fun part is the pastor preach on the same type of thing we were talking about . Comfort . Its along the same thing reaching out to others. One of the kids commented about it . I would also like to see the ability to order more of the stuff in the teacher kits. The stuff that we hand out to the kids. Sometimes I have up to 25 kids in my classroom God bless Doreen
