| Hello. I have been singing since I was 2 years old. Singing for the Lord is my passion and heart beat. I have never had professional lessons and I simply just use the gift that God gave me. I have been in praise teams over the years and a leader this past year. I just joined a new church and I was immediately asked by the youth pastors, if I could lead the youth Praise Team and help get it started to train the youth into this ministry. I think it is so awesome, but they are very shy. Friday night was my first night with them and I just tried to make it a fun time, by having a open mic night. I thought we could sing a few songs that we could get a little familiar with each other and our voices. The problem is that I was really the only one singing. LOL They were just mumbling into the mics. I suggested that we do what I used to do as a leader and pick out a list of 6 songs. We are going to burn these 6 songs to a CD and have everyone learn the songs, so we can all be on the same page and know what we are singing. I thought if they know the songs by heart, they will be more confident in singing them. I am praying that God will lead me and direct me on how to instruct them, as this is my first time working with a youth group. I am a mother of 2 teenagers, so I know I can handle it. LOL Anyway, I would like to find some kind of online praise team guideline or create one for them that they can all have a copy of, so they know up front in writing what worship means and what is expected of them etc. Can anyone give me any other suggestions or advice? Thank you so much and God bless you! His Servant, Veronica
