Could anyone tell me anything about the clay that comes with the Preschool Buzz kits? The children have been complaining a little bit about the odor and texture. They say that it smells bad (And it does!) and that it feels slimy. They always want to wash their hands immediately after we are finished sculpting. I have thought about purchasing a different sculpting product to satisfy them but my helper suggested that the Buzz clay may smell funny because it is antibacterial. If it is well ...that's really good thinking on the part of Group! But if it isn't, I think I'll use what we have in our art closet. So if anyone could offer some help, I would appreciate your comments. Other than that, so far we have really enjoyed using Buzz. It is simple to prepare and the lessons are very interactive. A very good product. Thanks Group!

We have had problems with the blue buzz clay as well.  It starts out sticky and ends up slippery and actually stains your hands.   I left with blue stains on my nails/skin.  We used wipes, but I stopped using the buzz clay.

Thank you for letting us know about your concerns with the clay. I'm so sorry it's been a problem for you.

We've talked to the manufacturer about this problem and will be sure to correct it if we use this kind of clay again. Just opening up our samples here at Group, we've noticed a wide discrepancy - some smell fine, others smell like you described. Some are sticky, others feel like normal clay. I'm not sure what the reason is for this discrepancy but hopefully the manufacturer can get to the root of the problem. And again, I apologize that you got some of the bad batch.

I can assure you that we do not use this kind of clay in any of our Winter kits, and we won't use it again at all if the manufacturer can't help us find a solution. So if you like Buzz overall, feel free to order Winter without worrying about the clay!

Thanks Ali for clearing up this problem. I'm glad that I won't have the possibility of running into a problem with the buzz clay when I start Buzz in the Winter.

God Bless,

Josh
