| I need some help. My church has just starting reaching out to a poor community in our area. As a result we have a new "kind" of kid in our class. This is wonderful, but has created some challenges as well as these children have very different needs. My problem comes in teaching "church kids" and unchurched kids in the same lesson effectively. How do I meet the need to keep my lessons basic for these new children while keeping it interesting for the kids who think they've heard it all before? I'd love to hear any ideas you have.

What about teaching some basic faith lessons. Keep them application oriented so each child can relate the lesson to what's going on in their own lives right now.
Not only is it great review for your churched kids and exactly what your new kids need. Check out Group's "Rooted"
And use lots of experiential learning experiences when teaching the Bible lessons. No matter how many times a child's heard Jonah, they'll all enjoy acting it out or listening to a dramatic reading while sitting huddled under a dark tarp.
See Group's "Large As Life Bible Adventures" for great experiential Bible story lessons kids will never forget!
