Centreville United Methodist Church, Centreville Virginia,  is seeking an energetic Director of Youth Ministry to guide and develop programs that encourage fellowship, foster Christian friendships, and contribute to our youth’s spiritual development. We are seeking a person of Christian faith, who is willing and able to demonstrate that faith to others, has extremely strong personal relational skills with youth, and possesses the ability to manage a large-church program.

Job responsibilities:
Responsibilities include curriculum development, program management, short-term and long-range planning, conduct of youth group events and activities, fostering mission opportunities and retreats, and the ability to train and work with volunteers. The person will be responsible for both middle school (grades 7 and 8) and high school grades (9 through 12) programs.

Skills/Background:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years experience in working with youth, with a majority of that experience being at the high school level and possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree. Formal training in Youth Ministry is desired. Excellent communication skills and a strong desire/ability to stay on top of techniques and methods for working successfully with youth are essential. Active participation in all youth activities and church worship is required.
