Just started a new Youth Ministry and would like to have a spiffy logo that all the cool youth ministries have. I don't have a budget but could contribute a few bucks if necessary. Someone guide me .. please?

We are using the name Ignite .. lots of neat logos with that name but it would be unethical to just take one and use it ..

How about this? Simple (did it in less than 5 minutes), but it may give others an inspiration to help you.

I like Joe's but I thought I would show you a font I downloaded called "Firestarter" that you might find helpful:

The background colors are just plugged in using my CorelDraw.

I REALLY liked this one:

If the church is nowhere near you maybe just email the youth leader and ask them if you could use the logo?

Try asking your youth to come up with a design. About a year ago one of our youth came up with our logo when he was just messing around.

which i recently finished painting on the wall...

Maybe make it a competition with prizes. That's how we came up with our current t-shirts.

Ultimately, your youth are a great resource and a project like this can go miles towards them identifying with their youth group as well as helping them to see/utilize their natural giftings and talents.

Nice! I'm gonna switch my YM name to Ignite just so I can use that logo!

I like and dislike the "need for a cool logo"

I think logo gives the group identity.

I think the logo drive that I see in many churches is not the healthiest. If we don't have the coolest of everything the kids won't come. I hate to say it, i don't think that kids come to our churches because of our Logo's. I think they come because they are sitting on campus or at some kids home and a kid says, come to church with me tonight. They get in the door and the relationships developed are the reason they do or don't come back.

I do think we should do things excellently also, and don't use that to justify blowing the budget on a few words. I think things can be professional, yet not be so over the top that it creates something bigger than you are, or should be.

you will never outshine the world in it's abilities to use special effects, visuals, etc. we can outshine the world in true love and relationships.

here man, let me help you out a bit.

I found this website the other day, and they are specifically geared to church graphics. did a search for "ignite" and found these:
http://www.creativemyk.com/gallery.aspx?q=ignite&s=

and what's great is the website is designers, so they can make you something, and a lot are free as long as you don't use them to profit from them.

good stuff.

live deeper.
