Does anyone else calendar a year in advance?
If you do, When does your team calendar for the coming year?
if not, how far out to you plan your ministry calendar? 1 month? 3 months? 6 months? 9 months?
My team plans on a school year (9 months out) but wondering if we need to look at calendaring January to January?

| And when did Calendar become a verb? LOL (Can't wait to see you next week!) Seriously, we have rough idea of the events (VBS, late summer, Trick or Treat, Christmas program) but we don't plan a year at a time. Too far in advance for the folks here.
Pictures taken on vacation at Lake Junaluska, NC.

Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing you as well.
Sounds like you have a rough idea of what the next year's plans are but are open to what's happening in the community?
That would be fun! However, our calendar is so jam packed (another problem in itself) that Children's Ministry has to look far into the future and get dates on the calendar. Although other ministries don't do that, it DOES helps other adult ministries plan effectively. For example, a huge Mission day this Spring was postponed a weekend so as not to conflict with an already scheduled VBS training event.
And Calendar is a verb like disrespect has become a verb.... LOL!!!! (I still think disrespect is NOT a verb, but who am I to stop our ever changing language?)
See you Monday, Peggy!

| Our church has lots of minitries and not much room so space is at a premium. A year out is not too far ahead to plan. We try to keep the same basic yearly schedule so no one is stepping on each others toes. Examples: Women's Tea always the 1st Saturday in December; VBS always the week of Junior High Camp; Promotion Sunday/Confirmation night always the week before Father's Day; Mission Sunday always 2nd Sunday in October...... I have a calendar of columns with 4 years on it so our team can see what date we usually do an event and also to keep in mind holidays and school events.
