Before each quarter begins, I place the cd in the computer tray and link each song on the cd to the appropriate powerpoint lyric slide. From then on, when I run the presentations of the current week songs, I just click anywhere in the powerpoint slide box and it automatically plays the song. I just follow along by clicking the mouse and when the last slide is done the song finishes. We also have a dvd drive on the computer and just alt/tab to the dvd menu.

Another alternative...we put the songs in my ipod and connect the ipod to our sound system to play the songs that are not on DVD. Of course, you do need a special adapter to do this.

I also would really like to see all of the songs listed in the curriculum on the DVD.  I purchased and used KidsOwn Worship for about 3 years, but now I am writing my own curriculum because the people that lead our children's church want to be able to use only the DVDs, rather than CDs.  If Group would change the curriculum so that all of the songs listed in the curriculum can be found on the DVD, I would gladly purchase it again - trust me, I don't enjoy writing the curriculum!

Hi, Deb!
We have the same problem as "Junior Member." We would love to have the motions for the DVD songs written out so that we can teach the song before starting the DVD recording. We bought the kit and received it in the mail this past Thursday. We worked like crazy to get ready, and we used the September 7 lesson this morning. The kids LOVED it...and so did we! I was disappointed with the plainness of the PowerPoint lyrics, but I made my own for the songs we sang this morning. The kids loved the songs and the activities...everything! We are looking forward to a "fall" full of great worship experiences. We are starting early so that we can use as many of the lessons as possible. (Our church has a Homecoming service in October, and there will be no children's church on that Sunday. And in the last part of November, we may have to start working on a Christmas program on Sunday mornings.) Thank you for helping to create a worship service that is so meaningful and so interesting for our children!

Sorry this is so long...I tried to e-mail you at the address mentioned in one of your posts, but it didn't go through.

Thanks again!

I love the Kids own Worship music, but I too was disappointed to find that all of the songs weren't on the DVD,  and that the numbers of the ones that were didn't match up. I find the kids respond so much better when they can see the word, and actions together on the screen they are more likely to get involved and enjoy the music more!!! I am hoping that all of the songs could be available on the DVD, I'm sure most of us would be willing to pay more for the kit if it had the DVD for all the songs!!

I just went through the KOW material for summer '09.  Thanks, Group, for putting the motions for ALL the songs in print at the back of the Leader Guide AND leaving them in order!  The pics are very helpful, too!

Our church loves the songs, but I also am confused about having to switch between so many different mediums during the worship time. It got too difficult to switch between Power Point and the DVD. It would be very helpful if you could put all the songs on the DVD or the Power Point show. Or could you make a DVD that is similar to the Power Point show that just has the music playing and the lyrics popping up (you don't even have to make each song its own little music video with kids dancing, although that is a cool thing).
