Watch for this new update in Fall 2007. Based on feedback from churches, we are adding a PowerPoint Show to each quarter's KidsOwn Worship Songs From FaithWeaver CD. You'll be able to put this disk in your computer to see a PowerPoint show. If you have PowerPoint, you can load it this show (on-screen lyrics) into your program. If you don't have PowerPoint, there is a free tool available to open the show (to see/use the on-screen lyrics).

You will be able to print this show out if you still would like to have lyrics transparencies, but we will no longer be including the lyrics transparencies.

Please let us know if we can be of service in any other way. And keep sharing your questions and ideas. We do listen, and make as many changes/updates as possible based on your input.

God bless you and your ministry!

Can you tell me if there is a simple way to print out the lyrics for overhead transparencies? I do have PowerPoint, so I can see the slides, but some songs for instance are on 6 slides - if I just print it out, that's going to give me 6 overheads for just one song!

Is there a simple way of doing this without a lot of cutting and pasting?

I believe we'll have this easier on the winter quarter (available 9/18/07). In the meantime, email me (dbernard@group.com) and I can email you a Word document. Would that help?

Blessings!

Thank you. 'Missy' from another forum helped me out and sent me the Word file. I don't usually come to the forums, so I was unaware of the poll done earlier, and the change to PowerPoint really caught me by surprise! I was so used to having the overheads in the box that I didn't even look, until a few days ago! So I've been all over the boards looking for what's going on. Glad to hear that future kits will have printable files!

Since we will need to print our our overheads each quarter (those of us not using PowerPoint), it's worth mentioning that the OLD KOW cd's (around 2003) had really nice pdf files for printing. The overheads were already formatted nicely, and it was very simple to just print and go. It would sure be nice to see those back.

Thanks for your help,

Thanks for the feedback! I believe the old CDs had text files (.txt), but we'll take this into consideration.

Let us know if we can be of service in any other way!

Actually, I have KOW cds from Fall 2002, Spring, Summer and Fall 2003 that all have very nice pdf files on them! Beginning with the Winter 2003 - 2004 cd the pdf's were replaced with rtf or txt files. Maybe that's when you began to include the overheads already printed?

Of all the formats I've seen Group produce, the pdf's were by far the easiest to use when we need to print, especially for our non-computer user volunteers (the ones most likely needing to print the overheads)!

Since you are no longer providing printed overheads, please consider going back to the pdf files instead txt, rtf or Word files. I was going to attach one of the pdf's for you to see, but it exceeds the filesize limit (the file is over 600k).

Thank you for listening!

Dear KidsOwn Worship,

I wanted to echo similar sentiments to the last post.  I, too, just opened the contents for this season's KidsOwnWorship, only to find...no transparencies.  I also was not aware that this was going to be a new change and found printing the transparencies rather cumbersome.

I am a Children's Church teacher of several years in a diverse inner city ministry in Northern Philadelphia.  Our church is very committed to providing the children who attend a solid Biblically-based curriculum on the market that is within our budget and have definitely found that to be true of KidsOwnWorship.  I don't have access to a laptop computer with a projection system--I have made do with good old fashion transparencies with an old transparency projector.  As for the other components of the package, I bring my own portable CD player and do not use the included DVD option.

I wanted to communicate this concern to let you know the range and diversity/socioeconomic levels of churches who are using your product.  As an encouragement, please keep up the great work, but please also be mindful/sensitive as you develop new ideas that not all churches have access to certain forms of technology.  I hope there is an option for easier transparency printing in the next edition.

Sincerely,

Melissa K

Thanks, Melissa! I appreciate your help keeping us mindful of the many different situations and settings in which these resources are used. And thanks so much for your heart for serving!

I think the winter quarter does have a better method for printing out the transparencies. However, we'd love also to figure a way to include them still for churches and ministries like yours.

I do have a Word document I can send out for winter lyrics if that helps. And please let me know if I can be of service in any other way. God bless you and your ministry!
